The main attractions of the Charles Bridge and the castle were, for want of a better term, “heaving” with people both night and day, but no matter how busy the access routes were there was never any disregard for the photographer and his tripod, and the early mornings certainly drew out the more serious photographers. From my observations the main camera brand being Nikon rather than Canon as would appear to be the case in the UK. As ever a whole day could be devoted to street photography of the visitors from all over the world.

Prague – All expectations exceeded!
13 12 2011An amazing city full of people this time of year. Looks like they don’t tattoo themselves, but rather apply the art to their buildings! More images to follow….

Norfolk Coast Week-end
22 11 2011The weather was kind over this last week-end spent on the Norfolk Coast. Based in excellent accommodation at the White Barn B&B facilities in Blakeney, our hosts Ray and Wendy were a mine of information on what to see and what to do, and our stay was made all the more pleasant by our excellent hosts, not to mention the memorable breakfasts!
More images to be put up on the website shortly, in the meantime this is my choice of the best of the week-end

Autumn’s Colour Power Punch
12 11 2011The start stop start to autumn I thought would culminate in a shortened time span of colours, but I have been proven wrong by the wonderful burst of colour around Newark on Trent this past week. In keeping with previous season’s the first week of November has proven to be spectacular. I have often seen from the road an area of woodland near the slip feed to the A1 off the A46 and wondered what potential it had. This morning I went out to find out if there was any access and I was not disappointed . Parking on the Bridge Farm access road the woods are a short walk away. The only downside is the evidence of fly tipping which does intrude on some of the potential images. All in all a most enjoyable excursion, the snail image being the biggest challenge with the wind intermittently interfering with the timed shutter release!

Autumns Final Phases
29 10 2011This mornings early start for sunrise potentials did not happen as the mist was too dense, but to prove us all wrong that this autumn was over before it started the hedges and trees are into their most glorious phases of autumn. The variety of colours in the trees and bushes was striking, to say the least!

On web update and activities
20 09 2011Currently struggling to adapt to the season change around us! I have been browsing summer photos and have selected the two shown from a roadside shoot outside Kelham one June afternoon. These images are being put on canvas for me by Sue Broom of Lakestore, and sadly I fear it will be one of the last if not the last work she does for me in preparation for the Southwell Minster Craft Fair on 5th of November as Richard and Sue intend to retire shortly. Hopefully the plans they are making will move forward quickly. They will be sorely missed!
My website re-creation is taking time, and as ever, is a completely new learning curve. However one step at a time and I am pleased with the work so far, loads more to follow

A Hot Tuscan Sun, Lazy, Hazy Days
15 07 2011A not so easy time of the year for a photographer – even the early morning opportunities were affected by the heat of the day, however polarising filter and nd filters to the fore, and we were off!
Visiting the Cinque Terre ports at the peak of season is not the best idea, the parking availability is poor, at the best of times. However there is always an image to be had anywhere there is water and people on holiday, and the bright colours coupled with the moody sea made this image
on the left. The early morning after the night before inspired the image to the right, the boat being recepticle to a no longer required bottle against the background stairs. More images to follow as and when!
